Experience the Brilliance of a Master Sound Engineer Live
Released in 1999 via CNR Music, Alan Parsons Live captures a pivotal moment in the career of the legendary producer and composer. After nearly two decades of refusing to take "The Project" on the road, Parsons assembled an elite band to prove his sophisticated studio creations were every bit as powerful in a live setting. This album serves as a definitive representation of his acclaimed career, blending symphonic rock grandeur with impeccable sound quality.
The performance features standout vocals from Chris Thompson (of Manfred Mann fame), particularly on the bittersweet "Limelight" and the anthemic "You're the Voice"—a track that would later become a signature hit for John Farnham. Fans of the Project’s rich heritage will appreciate the seamless flow and the inclusion of impressive studio tracks that highlight Parsons' evolution as a solo artist.
Key Highlights:
- Genre: Symphonic Rock / Progressive Pop
- Essential Tracks: "Limelight," "You're the Voice," and "Mr. Time."
- Personnel: Featuring stellar performances by guitarist Ian Bairnson and vocalist Chris Thompson.
- Significance: A rare live recording that demonstrates the accessibility and enduring brilliance of the Parsons catalog.
Whether you are a lifelong "Projectologist" or a newcomer discovering his work, this CD is a must-have testament to one of the most remarkable figures in music history.
